Compost Topdressing Services Frederick, MD
Frederick’s Local Lawn Pros
Much of our area is in a lawn crisis. Our native soil is heavy clay - great at holding water, but it compacts into concrete, has almost no organic matter, and very little biology. Healthy soil should be alive with microbes that break down thatch and feed your grass naturally. Most fertilizers only feed the plant, not the soil, so you get a quick green-up while the soil underneath keeps getting worse.Topdressing is how we improve the soil, not just the grass.
We are excited to now be one of very few companies in the region that owns the specialty equipment needed for topdressing, and is capable of delivering a smooth, even application of compost.

Topdressing is recommended preferably in the Fall, but can also be done in Spring. Annual Application for better results
Benefits of Topdressing

What Sets us Apart
Topdressing with real compost is one of the best things you can do for our clay soil, but it's also the most labor-intensive part of the job. Spreading it evenly by hand and wheelbarrow takes hours (If not days!), so most companies skip it entirely. Proper Spreading equipment is expensive ($8,000-27,000) and currently are rarely available for rent, even across state lines. We invest in the equipment to do it right to help solve a huge problem plaguing today’s lawns.
Let’s Talk Compost. We use 100% Organic, Leaf Based, Environmentally Regenerative, Sustainable, Naturally Produced Compost that is Safe for Pets and People (Though not recommended for consumption). And better yet, it is Naturally Processed right here in MD! It undergoes an extensive screening process, to remove contaminants and ensure a finished product. The compost we source is STA (Seal of Testing Assurance) Certified by the US Composting Council (USCC).
